Good morning! It's Monday, and we're here to launch you into the week with insights, stories, and a little bit of pep! If there’s one thing that can make today productive and meaningful, it’s taking action - starting with casting your vote!
And for your task of the day:
📌 Find your polling place, make your voice heard, and set the week on the right note
Now, let’s start with the day…
Tomorrow’s the big day! I’m feeling a mix of excitement and nerves as we head into Election Day. It’s such an important time for us to make our voices heard, and I’m staying optimistic about the outcome.
To help you get to the polls without any hassle, I’ve got some freebies and discounts from transportation companies.
📌 Free Rides
If you’re thinking about hopping on a scooter or bike to get to your polling place, Lime is here to help! You can snag two free 30-minute rides using the promo code VOTE2024. Just hop on and get to your polling place for free!
Also, Bird and Spin are offering the same deal! Use the code RockTheVote2024 in their apps, and you’ll get two free rides, too.
📌 Discounts
For those of you planning to call a ride, Lyft has a sweet deal - 50% off your ride to the polls, capped at $10. Just preload the ride code VOTE24 before November 5. This discount also works for bikes and scooters, so take your pick!
Uber is matching that offer with their own 50% off rides (up to $10) to polling places. Just click on the “Go Vote!” tile in the app, and they’ll even help you find the closest polling station. Plus, if you’re feeling a bit hungry after voting, Uber Eats is giving 25% off orders (with a $25 minimum) from 6 p.m. on Election Day to 7 a.m. the next morning.
📌 Car Rentals
If you need a car, Hertz is running a deal where you can get one free rental day when you book two days. Just use the promo code 211636 when you reserve your car. Just keep in mind that some vehicle types aren’t included.
How to find your nearest voting poll?
To make sure you know where to go, Google is providing all the info you need about polling locations and ballot drop-off times. You can find this on both Search and Maps, so it’s super easy to navigate.
And if you’re using Moovit, they’ve added thousands of polling locations into their app, making it easy to plan your trip.
BTW, here’s a HUGE update
The final poll before Election Day has Trump and Harris in a dead heat, each sitting at 49% among likely voters. Trump made up the 4-point gap that Harris held back in early October, and she’s since slipped a couple of points. What’s interesting is the split - Trump’s support is strong with older voters and men, while Harris has the edge with younger voters and women.
Now, neither candidate has great favorability numbers, but Trump is actually faring better on that front than in previous elections.
And here’s a telling stat: nearly half of respondents feel they were personally better off during Trump’s presidency compared to Biden’s, although Trump’s lead on handling the economy has shrunk - 45% say Trump has the clearest economic plan, while 42% say the same for Harris.
That’s it for today. All the best to all of us! See you again tomorrow 👋
