Hey guys! What’s up with y’all today? We started our day with an INSANE amount of work, and we still can’t see an end to it. So, to cheer ourselves, we decided to come here and spill some tea for y’all 🍵
Anyway, before we start, let’s give you a task for the day:
📌 Write Happy Notes: Cut up some small pieces of paper. On each piece, write something that makes you happy or something you're grateful for. It could be a fun memory, a compliment someone gave you, or a small achievement.
Take this out on New Year’s Eve to realize what a great year you had ✨
Stop blaming the poor old people! It’s You! It’s Us!
In a plot twist, no one saw coming, it’s the young folks—not the old guard—driving the surge of far-right support in Europe! TikTok in hand, making waves from Germany and France to Poland and Spain.
Just a few years back, our "Generation Greta" was rallying behind eco-warriors, inspired by the ever-iconic Greta Thunberg. Fast forward through a pandemic, a war in Ukraine, and a wallet-busting cost of living crisis, and voilà! Many have switched lanes to back far-right populist parties, who’ve perfected the art of speaking Gen Z’s language on TikTok and YouTube.
For example: The Alternative for Germany (AfD) saw a wild jump in support among the under-25s, catapulting them to a historic second place. And get this: Germany even let 16-18-year-olds vote for the first time, expecting a lefty wave, but nope! The young guns threw their weight behind the far-right instead.
In France, the National Rally (RN) charmed a quarter of the 18-24 crowd, while Poland's Confederation became the top pick for 18-29-year-olds.
But, why the sudden shift?
Well, these young voters are feeling the pinch of economic issues more than climate change nowadays. And let’s be real, the far-right’s snappy, sometimes controversial content is hitting all the right (or should we say far-right?) notes on social media.
While mainstream politicians are playing catch-up, with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz only recently hopping on TikTok, far-right stars are racking up followers and likes with viral content like dating tips and anti-migration rhetoric.
AfD’s lead candidate, Maximilian Krah, is a TikTok sensation with his macho advice, outshining mainstream rivals by miles.
So, while most young voters across the EU still lean left, the rise of the far-right among the youth is shaking up the political landscape.
BTW, there’s a new bug among us - ‘SUPER’-eb
The WHO has reported the emergence of hypervirulent strains of Klebsiella pneumoniae (hvKp) in 16 countries across various regions including Africa, Europe, the East Mediterranean, the Western Pacific, the Americas, and South-East Asia.
HvKp is a highly drug-resistant bacterium capable of causing severe and life-threatening infections, even in healthy individuals. This strain poses a greater risk compared to the classic Klebsiella pneumoniae (Kp), which primarily affects vulnerable patients in hospitals.
HvKp has been found to cause severe invasive infections that spread rapidly to multiple body sites, leading to high morbidity and mortality rates. This strain carries genes that make it resistant to carbapenem antibiotics and all available beta-lactam antibiotics, making it particularly dangerous.
But, you can take these measures to keep yourself safe 👇
Wash your hands…
Before preparing or eating food
Before touching your eyes, nose, or mouth
Before and after changing wound dressings or bandages
After using the toilet
After blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing
After touching hospital surfaces such as bed rails, bedside tables, door handles, remote controls, or phones
So, that’s it for today. Let’s meet again tomorrow 👋 Till then, stay curious, and keep washing you hands!
