Covid 2.0 is here
Videos on social media are creating a buzz, claiming that hospitals in China are overwhelmed by outbreaks of human metapneumovirus (HMPV), influenza A, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, and even COVID-19. Some posts even suggest cemeteries are overcrowded, sparking fears of another pandemic. But here’s the thing - there’s no solid evidence to back these claims.
Neither Chinese health authorities nor the WHO has confirmed any new pandemic or issued warnings. HMPV, which spreads like COVID-19 through respiratory droplets, usually causes cold-like symptoms but can be serious for kids, the elderly, and those with weak immune systems.
Winter storm delays 3,000 flights across US
A massive winter storm wreaked havoc across the US this weekend, and it’s not done yet. Kansas got buried under 12.5 inches of snow, with state highways completely shut down. St. Louis and Louisville were chaos, with cars stuck everywhere and over half a foot of snow clogging roads. Flights? Over 1,000 canceled, and delays hit 3,000—travelers are bracing for more disruptions this week.
Meanwhile, the South saw tornadoes and wind damage, with Arkansas and Texas feeling the brunt. Now, the storm’s heading east, and places like D.C. and Baltimore could get slammed with 6-12 inches of snow today. Ice is expected to cause even more trouble south of the snow zone. Officials are warning of "highway chaos," so if you can stay home, it’s the safest bet.
Overall, it was a night full of inspiring wins, heartfelt speeches, and plenty of laughs - proof that storytelling continues to shine in all its forms!
