But how did all this happen?
It all started with Oliver Russell's deep love for Finland’s cabin culture, cultivated during summers spent with his Finnish relatives. Fueled by memories of serene lakeside days and a desire for his own peaceful retreat, Oliver began scrolling through real estate listings. It was more of a fun pastime than a serious quest—because who wouldn’t love window shopping for an island, right?
And then, suddenly, Oliver stumbled upon a listing for an island priced at €33,000 (about $36,000). That's less than a brand-new car! Talk about a bargain! Oliver and his girlfriend, Helena Tomaszewska, couldn’t resist checking it out.
So, they embarked on a winter adventure, trekking 150 feet across a frozen lake to reach this potential paradise. Upon arrival, they found the island covered in pristine snow, eerily quiet, and brimming with potential for future escapades.
Determined to turn this whimsical dream into reality, Oliver decided to make an offer. Thanks to a fortuitous motorcycle accident (seriously, talk about finding the silver lining), he had some funds from a settlement.
Then, in March, he put in a cheeky offer of €28,000 or around $30,500 - because why not try for a discount? To his astonishment and delight, the sellers accepted! Just like that, Oliver became the proud owner of his very own island, proving that sometimes, even the wildest dreams can come true.
The couple's current setup includes a tent—think glamping, but with more wildlife. But they have some BIG plans!

She launched her personal account and within six hours, she had over a million followers—because who wouldn't want to see the VP's latest dance moves or policy hot takes?
This social media blitz is all part of her fresh presidential campaign. The Biden campaign's old TikTok handle, ‘@bidenhq,’ got a snazzy makeover to ‘@KamalaHQ’ and is now flaunting a cool 1.6 million followers.
Rob Flaherty, the campaign's deputy manager and unofficial hype man, explained that the team is determined to meet voters where they are—yes, even on TikTok. They're using the platform to vibe with younger audiences, who are apparently loving the content.
Also, Vice President Kamala is enjoying the platform so much that she is planning to NOT ban it from the States (that’s CRAZZYYY)
