The BLACK ‘thing’
Charles Middle School in El Paso has decided that all-black outfits are officially out of style—at least on campus.
Principal Nick DeSantis has put his foot down, declaring that students rocking an all-black ensemble are causing an unexpected existential dread. According to DeSantis, this trend even gives off hints of criminality (umm…ok)
The new dress code still lets students wear black on certain free dress days (for religious reasons mostly), so if you’ve got a goth phase planned, just time it right. Teachers noticed students were dressing in black more when feeling stressed or down, which prompted this sartorial intervention.
Now something about UK
The UK is currently facing a deeply troubling outbreak of whooping cough, with a rising death toll that has now claimed the lives of 10 infants since November 2023. The latest tragic death underscores the severity of the situation, as more than 10,000 cases have been confirmed across England in just the past year.
Whooping cough, also known as pertussis, is a highly contagious bacterial infection spread through coughing, sneezing, or close contact with an infected individual. What starts as mild, cold-like symptoms can quickly escalate into relentless coughing fits, particularly dangerous for infants who are too young to be fully vaccinated. The majority of recent cases have been recorded in individuals aged 15 and older, but over 300 have been reported in babies under three months old—the most vulnerable group, at greatest risk of severe complications or death.
Disturbingly, the actual number of whooping cough cases may be even higher than reported, as milder cases can be misdiagnosed as other respiratory illnesses. This only adds to the gravity of the outbreak.
Cocaine Party!!
Looks like Hurricane Debby was in the mood for some serious mischief! Border patrol agents hit the jackpot on a Florida Keys beach, where they stumbled upon 25 packages of cocaine that had washed ashore, courtesy of the storm's wild ride.
A beachgoer did the responsible thing and called in the authorities, who confirmed the haul: a whopping 70 pounds of coke, neatly branded with a red V-shaped logo. The street value? Over $1 million—talk about a beachcomber’s dream!
But wait, it gets better! Turns out, this isn’t even the first time the Sunshine State has played host to a hurricane-induced drug drop. Last year, Tampa Mayor Jane Castor was out for a stroll when she stumbled upon her own 70-pound stash of cocaine. Apparently, hurricanes in Florida aren’t just about wind and rain—they’re also moonlighting as drug couriers 😂
So, that’s it for today. Let’s meet again tomorrow 👋 Till then, stay curious, and STAY AWAY FROM DRUGS!
