Hey guys! What’s up? We’re having a slow morning today; still, we managed to dig interesting stories for y’all. But before we get started with those, we want to give you a task to make your day a little better.
So, we want to…
📌 Pick a charity that resonates with you and make a small donation. It could be monetary or items you no longer need.
By contributing to a cause that resonates with you, you gain a deep sense of fulfillment and satisfaction, knowing your actions are helping others. Acts of generosity are linked to increased happiness, as they activate areas of the brain associated with pleasure and reward.
Now, let’s get started…
🍜 Olympian subscribes to unlimited ramen
After smashing records and becoming the first Filipino man to snag a gold medal at the Olympics, gymnast Carlos Yulo didn't just leave Paris with a shiny new trophy—he came back with a treasure trove of rewards!
First up, Filipino real estate giant Megaworld rolled out the red carpet with a fully furnished three-bedroom condo worth about $605,000. Talk about an upgrade! But the real kicker? Hagemu Sushi and Ramen Bar swooped in with a lifetime supply of ramen. That’s right—Yulo can now enjoy as much ramen as his heart (and stomach) desires. The restaurant’s shout-out was as warm as their broth: “Your dedication and hard work inspire us all!”
And if you thought that was the end of the freebies, think again. Yulo also scored free medical services from a gastroenterologist (though he’ll have to wait until he’s 45 for that 😝), buffet vouchers from Vikings Luxury Buffet, furniture from Apollo Home Depot, and even cookies from Cookies By The Bucket.
On top of all that, the Philippine House of Representatives threw in a cash prize of around $104,000 for his double gold win.
So, it seems like Yulo is having a heck of a day!!
This is so DISAPPOINTING
It’s incredibly disheartening to report that Vinesh Phogat, an Indian professional wrestler, has been unceremoniously disqualified from the Paris 2024 Olympics wrestling competition in the women’s 50kg category due to being just 150 grams overweight.
The competition structure at Paris 2024 is already complex, with weight categories split over two days. Wrestlers face a weigh-in and medical control on the first day, and those advancing to the finals and repechage are weighed again on the second day.
Despite Phogat’s evident talent and hard work, which saw her successfully navigate three challenging bouts the previous day, she fell victim to the ruthless regulations of the weigh-in process.
This situation is a bitter blow not just to Phogat, but to the entire Indian wrestling community. It’s a glaring example of how unforgiving and inflexible competition rules can overshadow genuine talent and hard work.
BTW, you can’t miss this!
