Hey hey, Happy Friday!
Ready to kick off the weekend with some wild topics? Today, we’re diving headfirst into the buzz: Is Taylor Swift killing people?
Plus, we’ll unpack the Coinbase tragedy - what went down, and why it’s got everyone talking.
Let’s get into it!
📌 Human remains were just found near Taylor Swift's mansion
Something eerie just happened in one of Rhode Island’s most exclusive beach towns, Watch Hill, just steps away from Taylor Swift’s sprawling mansion.
Police were called in around 9:30 a.m. after someone reported what looked like a human bone washed up on the shore. And yep, turns out it might actually be human remains.
According to Westerly Police Chief Paul Gingerella, they found what looked like a leg bone, which has since been sent to the medical examiner’s office for a closer look.
Locals are understandably rattled. One resident, Taylor Day (not to be confused with Taylor Swift!), said the scene was crawling with cops, including an undercover car and the medical examiner.
“It was probably a couple of football fields away from Taylor Swift’s house,” Day noted, adding that finding a leg bone seems “very suspicious” despite cops saying there’s no foul play suspected, for now.
The area, usually known for being calm, quiet, and ridiculously expensive, isn’t used to headlines like this. Swift herself once wrote about her mansion in the song “The Last Great American Dynasty,” referencing the town’s gossip.
Well… it looks like the town might have a new mystery to buzz about.
📌 Coinbase got hit by $400 million breach
The crypto giant’s stock dropped over 8% after it revealed a major cyberattack, where hackers bribed overseas contractors to leak sensitive customer data.
The ransom demand? A $20 million in Bitcoin. Coinbase said “nope” to the ransom and is now working with law enforcement, and even offering a $20 million reward for tips that help catch the hackers.
So what was actually stolen?
Luckily, your password and private keys are safe, and no funds were touched. But personal info like names, phone numbers, addresses, masked Social Security digits, and even some bank details and ID images were exposed.
Coinbase has already notified affected customers and added extra security checks on certain accounts.
The company is urging users to be on high alert for scams. If someone calls claiming to be from Coinbase and asks for your 2FA code, password, or to move your crypto, hang up.
It’s not them. They’ve also launched a new U.S. support hub and are doubling down on security measures.
So, no crypto was lost, but if you’re a Coinbase user, stay sharp; scammers may try to use this breach to trick you.
📌 BTW, you can soon win a US citizenship
Kristi Noem might be bringing reality TV to immigration.
According to the Daily Mail, the Department of Homeland Security is working with producer Rob Worsoff, best known for Duck Dynasty, on a show called ‘The American.’
The concept? Immigrants are competing in challenges across the U.S. for a shot at fast-tracked citizenship.
Twelve vetted contestants would arrive on “The Citizen Ship,” greeted by a celebrity host like Sofia Vergara or Ryan Reynolds.
From there, they’d crisscross the country by train, facing region-themed tasks, log-balancing in Wisconsin, rocket-building in Florida, and sharing their stories along the way.
The grand prize: citizenship, granted in a Capitol Hill ceremony.
Losers get consolation prizes like airline miles, Starbucks gift cards, and a leg up in the normal process.
Homeland Security insists the show is still in early vetting, and claims Noem hasn’t reviewed the pitch. But insiders say she’s all in. Known for her photo-op-heavy stint as Homeland Security Secretary, earning her the nickname “ICE Barbie,” Noem hasn’t commented directly.
📌 Limited-edition Trump watch arrives... Missing one very important letter
A Rhode Island man just wanted to surprise his wife with a unique gift with a pink, limited-edition Trump watch.
But instead of making her smile, the $640 timepiece left him fuming. Tim Petit said he bought the watch after hearing a radio ad featuring Trump’s voice promoting the brand. Drawn in by the exclusivity (“one of 250”), he placed the order on GetTrumpWatches.com.
But when the watch arrived, it was missing something kinda important - the “T” in “TRUMP.” Yep, it just said “RUMP” across the dial. “How do you miss that?” his wife Melanie asked, pointing out the glaring typo.
Despite liking the overall look, the couple couldn’t believe such a basic error made it through.
Tim said he felt duped and disappointed, especially since he “expected the integrity of the President of the United States” to be reflected in the product.
For its part, the website claims it’s officially licensed to use Trump’s name and image but adds that the watches aren’t political and aren’t actually made or sold by Trump or his companies.
Still, Tim thinks someone in licensing “really dropped the ball.” Honestly, if you’re spending $640, you’d at least expect all the letters to show up.
