Welcome back to your daily dose of glam, gossip, and everything fabulous. If you blinked this Monday, you might’ve missed fashion history being stitched together at the Met Gala 2025.
Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.
Let’s break down everything you missed at the most superfine night of the year…
📌 Katy Perry’s fake Met Gala look fools the internet!
Katy Perry may have skipped the 2025 Met Gala, but her AI twin made a surprise appearance.
Clad in a sleek black latex gown paired with a cut-out blazer, the digital doppelgänger had fans doing double-takes until a telltale glitch, where the dress appeared to melt into her waist, gave it away.
Katy joined the fun, reposting the image on Instagram with the caption, “couldn’t make it to the MET...was with my mom,” referencing last year’s viral AI moment that even fooled her own mother. The internet’s take? “This AI slayed.”
📌 One of the biggest star pulled out of the event last minute
LeBron James dropped a Met Gala bombshell on Monday: he’s not showing up. Despite being this year’s honorary chair, the NBA legend announced on X that he’d be skipping fashion’s biggest night due to a knee injury.
LeBron sprained his MCL during the Lakers’ final playoff game last Wednesday, and an MRI later confirmed it was a grade 2 sprain, serious enough that he now needs crutches.
Fans were surprised he didn’t announce it sooner, especially since the injury occurred days ago. Although he briefly returned to play in that game, sources say even if the Lakers had advanced, LeBron would’ve been benched for the rest of the season.
Still, the Met won’t be completely James-less. His wife, Savannah James, is attending solo and has already teased her glam look on Instagram.
LeBron praised her on social media, calling her his “powerful Queen” and saying she’ll be “holding the castle down.”
📌 And, the Internet’s favorite fashion icon wasn’t even invited
Fashion TikTok darling Wisdom Kaye: the guy who turns outfits into pure art just dropped a bomb: he wasn’t invited to the 2025 Met Gala.
Yup, even after serving one of last year’s most iconic looks. Fans are fuming, especially since this year’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” felt tailor-made for him (pun intended).
Social media’s on fire, calling it “baffling” and even throwing around words like “micro-aggression.”
Everyone’s asking the same thing: how did he not make the guest list?
📌 Oh, and this year’s carpet was made in this country
Guess who rolled out the red carpet for the Met Gala again?
For the third year running, Kerala-based Neytt Homes (yep, the folks under Extraweave) were behind that stunning entrance.
And this wasn’t just any rug; it took 480 people, nearly 90 days to create a 6,840 square meter masterpiece using the finest sisal fiber from Madagascar.
The carpet was woven with care in Alappuzha, then shipped in 57 massive rolls (each 4x30 meters!) to New York, where it was hand-painted to perfection. Neytt’s no stranger to this glam gig; they also made the jaw-dropping 6,960 sq m carpet for the 2023 Met Gala.
Now that’s what we call red carpet royalty.
