The weekend is almost in sight, but first, let’s add some spark to today.
📌 Here’s a fun task for you:
Think of one random act of kindness you can do today. Could be as simple as paying a compliment or letting someone go ahead of you in line.
Now, let’s dive into the newsletter and keep that positivity rolling!
🚨 The accident
A mid-air collision between an American Airlines flight and a US Army Black Hawk helicopter near Washington DC’s Reagan National Airport has left the community in shock.
The crash occurred around 9 PM local time as the plane, carrying 60 passengers and four crew members, was approaching Runway 33. While there’s no confirmed word on casualties, authorities have recovered at least 19 bodies.
This is a heartbreaking incident, especially considering the US hadn’t seen a major commercial crash since February 2009 when a Continental Airlines flight tragically went down in Buffalo, claiming 49 lives.
So, why did Julia Fox ditch her clothes?
She has never been shy, but her latest M.A.C campaign takes things up a notch - she’s literally naked on a subway. (Don’t worry, it’s just a set.)
The campaign celebrates the relaunch of 20 iconic nude lipsticks from the ’90s and early 2000s, because yes, the 2000s are officially “archival” now - sorry, millennials.
Among the returning shades is Fleshpot (a fan-favorite from 2001) and Cool Spice, a ’90s twist on the über-popular Spice liner worn by supermodels like Naomi Campbell. M.A.C fans are already flooding the brand’s Instagram with requests to bring back even more nostalgic shades.
Fox calls the shades “raw, sexy, and unapologetically me,” and honestly, that sums up the whole campaign.
This man faked his own death to get out of paying child support
Jeffrey Bell Jr. really tried to pull off the ultimate escape by faking his own death to dodge child support payments.
But his plan fell apart when the Washington County Child Support Administrator received emails claiming he had died, meaning his unpaid child support would just disappear.
Indiana State Police weren’t convinced.
They tracked him down to a home in Washington County, where he was living with his girlfriend. When confronted, Bell pretended to be someone else, but that didn’t fool detectives. He was hit with a charge for false informing.
Then came the big reveal - Bell appeared virtually in court on Jan 23, claiming he was out of state. But authorities suspected otherwise.
As he sat in the virtual hearing, police showed up at his home and confirmed he was very much in Indiana. Busted!
The judge wasted no time ordering his arrest.
Americans are now considering road trips to Canada for cheaper eggs
If you haven’t been grocery shopping lately, brace yourself - egg prices in the U.S. are INSANE!!!
Some places are charging over $13 per dozen, and stores are even limiting how many you can buy. The reason? A particularly aggressive strain of avian flu has hit hard.
Meanwhile, just across the border, Canadians are chilling with egg prices as low as $2.75 per dozen.
How? Canada’s supply management system regulates production and imports, keeping prices stable. Plus, their farms are smaller and more spread out, reducing the risk of bird flu outbreaks.
People on social media are sharing receipts - literally - showing eggs for under $4 CAD (about $2.75 USD). And honestly? It checks out. Even Walmart Canada has them at that price.
The price gap is so wild that Americans are joking about road-tripping to Canada just for eggs. At this rate, “egg runs” might become the new “gas runs.”
